UK 68-71 South Carolina


A disaster has turned into a nightmare.  Kentucky just lost to South Carolina at home.  In Rupp Arena.  What was once a significant home court advantage, a college atmosphere packed into an NBA size arena, has divulged into a living graveyard.  Part due to Mitch Barnhart prioritizing profits over fostering an atmosphere.  Pricing out the average blue collar UK fan, the overwhelming majority of the fanbase.  But mostly due to the product being put on display.  As laid out in my first blog on the  Wildcats, this is Kentucky.  The standards are different.  If you aren't a fan, you won't and don't get it.

Kentucky was just eliminated from March Madness in January.  A loss to the Gamecocks, ranked 245 in the NET rankings.  One of the worst team in college basketball.  A team that lost to Furman by 20 points at home.  A Quad 4 loss.  Falling to 10-6 (1-3 SEC).  A game, even though it was close, the winning team was simply better at math.  A modern basketball revelation that 3 is more than 2.  When Kentucky did happen to score it was for two points while South Carolina was making threes (11/20).  Kentucky shot an abysmal 3/10 from three and 7/14 from the freethrow line.  If you can't score, you can't win.

Looking at the remaining schedule, it is safe to assume 2 losses to each of Tennessee, Arkansas; 1 loss to each of Alabama, Kansas, Missouri, and Auburn.  This leaves a best case scenario record of 19-12, if (BIF IF) they win the other games.  Their best win being LSU at home and a neutral site against Michigan.  ZERO quad 1 wins.  A current total of 5 blowout losses, which I expect to rise to 11.   No way that makes the cut.

The Start of My Taylor Era

A Day of Mourning, Remembrance, & Celebration

February 5th, 2012 The day I fell in love with Tom Brady.  Preparing to watch Super Bowl XLVI with friends, I watched as Tom Brady emerged from the tunnel.  I said something to the effect of, "that's Jesus on a football field."  Not proud of the heretical statement, but the point stands.  Watching Tom Brady take the field that night was one of the most impactful moments in all my years of being a sports fan.  A night that ultimately ended in disappointment.  But I didn't care, I was hooked.  The Super Bowl loss to the New York Football Giants, leading to a loss to Joe Flacco in the AFC championship game during his  elite  run, and followed by an unbearable loss to the Peyton-led Broncos.  Three years of disappointments and my reverence for #12 did not waiver.  At 37, the Patriots got blown out at Arrowhead in the infamous 2014 loss to the Chiefs.  On the Monday Night Football postgame coverage following the game, Trent Dil...

Taylor's Error Tour

Taylor Swift sent Taylor nation into a frenzy when the industry icon announced The Eras Tour on Good Morning America in November.  Her first tour after the record breaking Reputation Tour five years ago and Lover Fest.  Swift tantalized fans, describing the upcoming phenomenon as "a journey through all of my musical eras of my career."  From Debut to Midnights .  The thought of being able to hear her angelic, mature, and whimsical voice revitalize the raw lyrics of a heartbroken teenager filled with angst, who was trying to find her place in the world, will be an out of body experience.   Some of you may be thinking that I am just another crazed swiftie that thinks the world revolves around Taylor.  I am.  But the impact this tour will have on not just the music industry, but entertainment industry, will be insurmountable and undeniable.  The Eras Tour will be the highest grossing tour in history.  2.4 million tickets sold, with 3.5 million ...
